If you’ve looked at our services or that of any other massage practice, you may have wondered what the real differences are between all these different techniques and services. Well, let's clear it up a bit so you can decide what’s the right massage type for you...First, it’s important to know what your goals are. That’s why this is one of the first questions we'll ask; what are you goals for a session?Your answer influences what modalities and techniques we’ll use so we can be sure we’re giving you the best type of massage for your body.Generally speaking, there’s usually one of two camps you’ll fall in; relaxation or therapeutic/clinical.If you’re looking to just relax, get some stress relief, and feel better, relaxation techniques like Swedish or hot stone massage, plus skin treatments like dry brushing, paraffin, and other spa type techniques are perfect. These treatments are centered around calming the nervous system, relieving general muscle tension, and overall putting you into a nice, relaxed state. If you’re in pain or have an injury and need some focused work and pain relief, the therapeutic/clinical treatments are best for you; things like orthopedic massage, deep tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, or even our 30-minute focus treatment. These techniques are far more specific and require much more training, lending to very detailed work to relieve tension, improve muscle performance and joint mobility, and get you out of pain.Whatever your goals are, we more than likely have a treatment option that would suit you. And if you’re still not sure, give us a call and we can help you figure that out so you can be sure you’re getting the right massage for your body.
